Covid19 lockdown:As kano prepares for the Nightmare.

Ever since the first case of COVID-19 was reported in Nigeria, this disease has continue to permeate most states in Nigeria and as it was dreadly anticipated,Nigeria's most populous state;Kano, had it first index case  six days ago.Barely one week  after it was reported, the number of infected cases seems to increase at fast pace more than many states that had had it first case, weeks before it.The rising spate has invited apprehension to the city owing to it's huge population, mass illiteracy and overt ignorance.
To curtail the whirl wind of Covid-19,the state government has decided to emulate it's counterparts in taking giant and bold steps by gazetting lockdown in the state. The lockdown wasn't a surprise but it came as a blow to the residents. Only a two- day notice was given prequel to the lockdown.
The news of the impending lockdown threw the city  into a period of frenzied commercial activities,as people engaged in panic buying   of household  consumables.
Despite the sudden but expected hike in commodities, buyers still thronged the markets to buy the little they could.
The crowd at the popular and biggest market in the state was humongous and frightening. No room for social distancing as every seemed to care  less.
