Wildlife in Nigeria
The beauty of Africa is enhanced by the beautiful wildlife presence that is found in the heart of Africa.The preservation,protection and regulation of wildlife activities in Africa has contributed immensely in adding more splendor in the magnificence of Africa.Which inturn has made Africa a cynosure to tourists around the world,contributing to huge revenue generation in the continent.
The beautiful wildlife reserves in Africa is second to any,as the continent regales tourists with it’s lush Greenlands,mountains,lowlands,faunas,floras etc.
Today, our focus is on exploring the beautiful wildlife reserves found in Africa’s most populous country;Nigeria.
In Nigeria,there are about ten national parks which collectively housed abundant miscellany of spicies of bird,mammals,reptiles and other animals.
The fauna of Nigeria is irrefutably alluring with lions,jackals,roan antelopes,deers,crocodiles,hippotamuses,chipamzees,pangolins,African golden cats,leopards,rhinoceros,waterbucks,bushbabies,shrews etc.
In total,about 290 species of mammal and 940 species of bird have been discovered in Nigeria.
The largest national park in Nigeria is the Gashaka Gumti park situated in Taraba and Adamawa state.It’s one of the largest in Africa.
The Kainji national park is the oldest in Nigeria,established in 1978.
