Your First day in My School.
Your first day in School
A great wall stood,
Strides surged,
The stout- looking face of men in blue betides,
Hands beckoned, voices called, and feet paced.
Eyes swinging to and fro, and whooshing of cars serenaded it's vicinity,
Your head crowned with mortley thoughts travelling about It axis;
Your heart beats out the fears, but all what came is just a sigh,
Expectations heaped, and all your hopes rest on a pyre, ready to succumb
to a blazing flare of incertitude,
Suddenly, you heard a string of mother's words streaking out
a passion anew.
Your back aches and your head begging to rest,
"Not yet!!!! "you whispered.
Time crawled,and
You realized you had stood on a spot longer than you ought to.
Faces greeted you without a word.
A clique and a clique you did pass eavesdropping on their chatterings,
You needed just a glance from a good samaritan to read the hand writing on your face, but sorry they never cared.
Your tearied eyes searched randomly into brown envelopes, hugged by those you considered " fellow freshers".
And often you did found yourself locked within the walls of your own thoughts-you shrugged.
"please............"you paused intermittently to ask a bystander or a passerby .
Unexpectedly, you had their answers snapped into your incognizance, leaving you to swim in your ordeal.
Finally, you came, you jostled your way through the crowd, you queued up.
Not long did your feet became a stepping stone-not the one you used to hear.
You squirmed, and you want to shout .Only to be met with a stern looking countenance.
And you know, you had to swallow your words-and you did.
Sooner, did your legs began to knock against each other.you were sore tired.
not once you felt like collapsing dead-but you held on.
You watched aimlessly.
You waited patiently,as the queue trickled in like an intravenous fluid finding it way into a punctured vein.
"it's moving gradually"Some mumbled
Yet you are not appeased.
Suddenly, your worst tormentor crawled in.
Trumpeting it arrival, it kisses your fore head before unleashing it splendor-Scorching and ravaging.
And You felt your head was in flame and you draped it with a handkerchief. Yet it never sufficed.
Like victoria fall,
Sweat gushed down from your temple travelling miles down to your feet, never forgetting
to say "hello" to your sullen eyes.
Your eyes itched,
A tear dropped, you wiped and you surged forward.
You looked beyond, and only three persons are ahead of you.
And for a while you had a reason to smile.
You watched as your forerunner went out grinning to your ears.
"Don't worry, mine is next"you said to her deep in your mind.
Then suddenly, you heard the heart-wrenching words reeling out from the window, that you had expected a stretched hand asking for your papers
"Sorrry come back tomorrow"the words landed like a bomb.
Your smiles crippled to frown,
Your heart ache,as
The cracking voice sunk into your ears rippling anguish,
You felt the surreal swirling of the ground you stood.
You wanted to cry but
You had no choice than to hug the heaviness of your heart and walk away.
Stepping out of it's fenced wall,
With your mind still bittered,
You cast a look at the blazoned letters, you had earlier smiled at,but
It smiled to you this time with just a three-word
"Welcome to B. U. K"
